Welcome! I know how hard it is to decide to be vulnerable and seek help for the struggles you're facing in life. Take your time to look around the website, get to know me a little bit.
I am a trauma informed, relational, inclusive, Body Positive, and Health at Every Size therapist, with advanced training in trauma, anxiety/OCD, and eating disorder treatment (see Approach to Therapy tab for more). I believe the therapeutic relationship is one of the most important parts of the healing process. Therapy is a collaborative process, my job is not to tell you exactly what to do and why what you've been doing is wrong, but to walk alongside you to figure out what is and is not effective for you in order to help you get unstuck and moving toward your values again.
Feel free to send me a message with any questions you may have, no obligation. Very briefly, my areas of expertise are in the treatment of trauma (such as complex/developmental trauma and PTSD) , personality disorders like Borderline Personality Disorder, OCD, and all types of eating disorders. I frequently use Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT) with clients. I also work with clients struggling with perfectionism, anxiety, depression, life transitions, self-esteem, and identity development. I do both long-term and short-term work, and mold my approach based on my client's needs and wants. (see the Approach to Therapy & Specialities tabs).
On a personal note: I have a chocolate covered fruit and coffee obsession, I take pub trivia nights way too seriously, and as a born and raised Southerner, I have a deep love for line dancing and horses.
I see clients both in person and via Telehealth. Meeting virtually allows clients the freedom and flexibility to meet anywhere that is private and comfortable for them. As a psychologist authorized by PSYPACT to practice telehealth across state lines I can see clients located in over 35 states (and counting), click HERE to see if you live in PSYPACT state where I can provide services.
In-person appointments occur at Midwest Counseling & Diagnostics in the Loop at 1 E Wacker, Chicago, IL.
If you prefer in-person, please be aware that due to my schedule, there will be times every so often that I will need to meet with you virtually (or we can skip that week).
